I'm in film production and know my way fairly well around adobe products so i thought i'd be okay. So the ip8750 seemed like a great option as it takes up much less space for an a3 printer and the output seemed to be nearly as good as the pro 9500. I used have a Canon Pro 9500, which was great, but i only need a pinter for non-work stuff like prints for family and christmas cards of the kids for relatives. Its really frustrating, because its a great printer, but effectively useless if i cant manage colour from adobe. The print dialogue box does not have the same options as the "pro" dialogue box.
I am using the pixma ip8750 with mac os and i cant find anyway to turn off the printers colour managment. Hi Phil, thans for this unfortunately i think this article only covers "pro" printers. Not quite sure where to go with this next, but thank you anyway. The really weird thing is that the printer did work with PS when i first got it, but not now. The results when printing this way on to canon photo paper are washed out colours.Īs you might have guessed by the speed of my response, I only use the printer occasionally to make larger prints or cards for family, but i use PS and Adobe RAW very regularly so i know my way around which makes this all the more frustrating.Ĭanon's tech support couldnt help and adobe were the same, both blaming one another. I can print using the printers own settings but these are basic and dont allow paper icc profile selections. When i do the later it will print (TIFFs only) but i'm given no opportunity to alter the page layout.
I am trying to print from Adobe cc photoshop which prompts me to turn off printer colour management in the print dialogue panel. Hi Thanks for coming back to me and sorry i've only just seen your response. of which I've owned about 7 different models, and they've all been quite similar. I'm assuming its printer driver works like most other Canon printers. Sorry I can't be more specific since it depends on your software, and also that I don't own that printer. With PS and LR, there is a drop-down combo-box with options such as: Once I have a printer profile (either custom or generic from Canon), the guidance will vary depending on what software you are using. I do this with Adobe's ACPU (Adobe Color Printer Utility). If you make custom printer profiles, you want to turn OFF CM. PhotoShop? LightRoom? Canon utility Other? What software are you using for printing. There may be some lack of clarity on "colour management OFF". I don't have an iP8750, but it appears to be a really nice printer.
I'm probably not doing something obvious, but would really appreciate any suggestions from otherCanon Pixma IP8750/8700 users on how to switch the printer's colour management off so i can print from photoshop CC.
